To celebrate the last day of 2015, we want to recap our extremely successful and exciting #WOMENtrepreneurs campaign that we held throughout the month of October this year. We wanted to create a dialogue surrounding workplace equality and recognize the value that created when both women and men are acknowledged for their efforts, both personally and professionally. During the 31 days of the month, we created memes highlighting EO members and non-members with pictures, quotations, milestones and a member video.
If a picture is worth 1,000 words, here are 30,000 (30 pictures) from 2015. Thank you for being a part of EO this year, and we can’t wait to continue learning and growing with you in 2016!
We asked EO Cleveland member Keith Strauss to describe the Mentorship Program in exactly 29 words, and we were very impressed by his ability to create this meaningful message in so few words:
“EO Mentorship impacts the entrepreneurial ecosystem with help, guidance, and direction for emerging entrepreneurs, established businesses, and seasoned business leaders. Its impact can be seen throughout the business world.”
#EOlooksback at 2015 … On the 28th day of December, we celebrate the number of years EO has existed! Since 1987, EO has been transforming the lives of the entrepreneurs who transform the world.
It was an eventful year here at EO – we welcomed Vijay Tirathrai as our new CEO, we hosted many different events, gained thousands of followers on social media and now, we’re prepared for the end of the calendar year. As you look back over the year and get ready to “begin again,” here is a 27-word mantra to keep in mind:
How do you keep your staff (and yourself) motivated and working efficiently? In the face of a new calendar year, here are 26 ways to improve and/or maintain office productivity:
1. Encourage a healthy work ethic. Working without breaks, regular movement or milestones is a recipe for quick burnout. Make sure you and your employees create good, sustainable work habits.
2. Be flexible about individual work styles. Some employees work best in a quiet space, alone, while others may be more extroverted and excel in team-based projects. When hiring for these positions, keep in mind that each potential employee has their own, unique work style; ideally, it aligns with those of your star employees.
Thanks to this year’s Inc. 5000 list and its corresponding Inc. magazine cover photo, Jessica Mah, CEO of inDinero, is now a household name. A rising star in the Silicon Valley scene, Jessica is also an EO member – and we couldn’t be more excited for her outstanding business growth and success! Read Jessica Mah’s Inc. story here.
This year’s EO24 programming shattered last year’s records and made it the best 24-hour learning event we’ve hosted to date! This amazing 24-hour, interactive experience featured top-class speakers, rich learning opportunities and the ability to live-chat with these speakers and other entrepreneurs globally. This updated, fresh take on a celebration of learning for entrepreneurs worldwide spoke to many facets of the entrepreneurial experience, through EO members and industry experts. Here are a few numbers we’ve collected from EO24:
This year, 23 EO member companies were honored in the Inc. 500|5000 list; unfortunately, one member’s company, UltraMobile, was left off the list. In an effort to celebrate this amended (and expanded) list, here are the 24 EO member companies featured by Inc.com this year.
Grappling with the concept of a work/life balance was a hot topic in 2015. Some argue that it can be done, while others maintain that true balance is not possible. We found a Inc.com post from 22 May in which six EO members give their insight into this ever-timely topic.
