More than 450 leading entrepreneurs from 20+ countries united in beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina, to “tango with the unexpected” and discover new ways to engage during the 2013 EO Buenos Aires University, held 13-17 November. EO Global Chairman Rosemary Tan kick-started the event by touching on the power of entrepreneurship and the significance of engaging on a local, regional and global level.

Building on this principle was keynote speaker Marcos Galperin, founder of MercadoLibre.com, who spoke about the emergence of entrepreneurship in the Buenos Aires region and the advent of technology in Latin America. Rounding out the first day’s general session was a surprise appearance by Buenos Aires mayor Mauricio Macri, who welcomed the entrepreneurs in attendance to continue serving as drivers of local, regional and global economic growth. Recapping the evening was a special dinner at the Faena Arts Center, where guests were given an up-close look at the art of tango and treated to the kind of cultural cuisine that has put Buenos Aires on the culinary map.
