As owner and president of PLS Launch Solutions in Rochester, NY, Michele Nichols leads a team that helps technology companies compete and grow. PLS provides IP and marketing consulting and execution for high tech, optics, photonics and services companies looking to grow sales, enter new markets, and create competitive advantage. Michele consults with science and engineering-driven companies in the US and internationally and guides in the implementation of those strategies. Her company specializes in inbound marketing, understanding the customer, and creating educational content that brings the customer to the business at point of need. Most of the companies she works with are skeptical about marketing, and working with them to create and execute marketing with a measurable ROI is what drives her company and team.

When asked how she got her start she said, “Happenstance. I’ve learned from sculptors, restaurant owners, chefs, property developers. They all taught me about doing the work, building a system, finding your flow, and taking responsibility for everything you put your name on. I was pulled into a couple turnarounds, and really found I liked taking a hard look at where a business was at, where its true value lay, and building from there.”

She loves the freedom of being an entrepreneur, and enjoys the new challenge and opportunity to grow every day.  She finds the global perspective from the people she’s met around the world and the in-depth perspectives from her forum the most valuable part of her EO experience, and is grateful for their support.
